In October 1973, eighteen people in our community met with the purpose of starting a local library and the Friends of the Richland Library was formed.
Four months later, the doors opened to the public with 42 family members and 3,641 books. Forty years later we have over 36.000 titles and over 3,600 patrons!
The community is welcome to a celebration in front of our beautiful fireplace on
Saturday, September 13th from 1:00 - 3:00.
Light refreshments will be served.
Friends of Richland Library, past library directors and long time library supporters will be here to mark that important decision forty years ago.
Members of our newly founded Teen Advisory Board will also be attending as well as modeling some stylish 70's clothing!
Plan on joining us that day!
