It's a time to celebrate and enjoy all public, private and academic libraries PLUS RCL won't charge you any late fees this month! Don't forget to stop by the upper level circ desk and sign up for a chance to win one of three jars of treats. We'll announce the winners on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 6:30 during our Evening Story Time! Flowers and chocolates (nothing against chocolate, of course) are so last century, and just a bit cliche. If you ask us, the sharing of love through language remains a tradition that transcends time. So this valentines day, we'd much rather give (and receive) books. But we'd like to add our own little twist-- ditch your date and meet your soul mate through the Richland Library. We'll fix you up with an anonymous novel, meticulously wrapped and ready for a cozy night at home. Brew some tea and snuggle for your blind date with a book! Believe what you will, but according to us TAB members, swing is the next big thing (rhyming, yay)!
Pull on your dancing shoes and join us for the debut of GLASS-Gull Lake Area Swing Society- on Febuary 20th. Where: Gull Lake Ryan Intermediate Cafeteria (9562 East M-89 Richland, MI 49083) Time: 7:00- 9:00 Admission: $5 fee Dress: Casual A lesson will be provided for beginners at 7:00, with a free floor from 7:30-9. Keep your energy up with beverages and snacks! Hope to see you there! Joe Heywood returns to the Lower Peninsula! Warm yourself by the fire and meet the author of the well-known Woods Cop mysteries at the Richland Community Library. Wednesday, January 14th at 7:00pm Light refreshments will be served. This program is co-sponsored by the Richland Community Library, the Gull Lake Area Rotary Club, Friends of the Richland Community Library and the Croasdale Family, in memory of Ray Croasdale. Everything Candy Cane! Got your Black-Friday shopping done? Join us over at the Richland Community Library with your children the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 28th anytime between 10:30 - 12:00 for some fun Candy Cane Crafts! These crafts are best for kids ages three and up. There's no fee or need to register. Need more info? Call Mary at 629-9085 Extension 208 or click here and send her an e-mail. Nashville's Public Library recently made a song celebrating library cards to the melody of Meghan Trainor's popular song, All About That Bass. Us TAB members love their rendition (dare we say it) even more than the original! Give it a listen! Join us for a family program featuring the award-winning author/illustrator team of David Small and Sarah Stewart. Wednesday October 8th at 6:30 pm next door at the First Presbyterian Church. RSVPs are appreciated, but not required. This program is jointly sponsored by the Richland Community Library, Friends of the Richland Community Library, the Gull Lake Area Rotary Club, and Judith Croasdale.
